CFB Dundurn

Would you recommend HHTs/DITs be conducted in your area at this time?

No.

Recommendation is to align the HHT with the Province of Sk Phase 3 re-opening (date still to be determined). First, Dundurn is a very small market and is almost at a stand still at the moment. Third, anecdotal evidences suggest that access to Third Party Suppliers (such as home inspections) has been problematic with little alternative since the beginning of the pandemic.

Would you recommend HHTs/DITs be conducted in your area at this time?

Ottawa – Yes.

Gatineau – Yes.

Ottawa-Gatineau poses a high risk, relative to other base/wing/unit locations in Canada, for CAF personnel to contract COVID-19. Therefore, members should carefully consider: whether they could feasibly delay their HHT/DIT for a couple of weeks, how many dependents they really need to bring with them, and whether they have any medical conditions that may put them at higher risk of complications from COVID-19, and make their travel plans accordingly.

Risk of infection with COVID-19 exists for CAF members and their dependents while travelling on HHT/DIT.  The member and their dependents can also represent a risk to others particularly if travelling from a location where the number of COVID-19 cases is high.  Members and their dependents are therefore reminded to maintain strict adherence to public health measures regardless of the medical threat assessment as COVID-19 remains a real threat at this time across the country.

It is highly recommended that you read the local community information in this chart for any location that you will be transiting through while traveling on HHT/DIT.
